But passion will only get you so far. And I think this is where a lot of Doulas struggle.Â
Most Doulas (myself included) start by taking a Doula training from a well-known organization. The problem I found myself running into was that I spent all this money with this organization, just to realize I didnât actually align with their beliefs.
The other problem? This 2 day workshop did little to prepare me as a Doula, and even LESS to prepare me for the logistics, the business aspect, or the practical tools I would need.
The OTHER problem? It felt like a transaction. There was no support in the process. After this workshop, I was left with reading and assignments, a whole business I now had to start from the ground up all on my own, and LOTS of confusion and overwhelm.Â
It had me second guessing EVERYTHING. I thought âwhat am I getting myself into?â
The truth is that we deserve SO much more. Our communities NEED Doulas, and Doulas need the tools, love and support to create a sustainable, profitable, and community changing businesses.

Doula Training
I get asked âHow can I become a Doula?â On a weekly basis. For the longest time, I didnât have a real recommendation for a Doula Training Program. Then Kyleigh Banks, as you may know from The Autonomy Mommy, or from The Birthworker Podcast created her own. Iâve taken it on my own and Iâm obsessed and just HAD to team up with her to share it with you all.Â
Coaching
Iâm so excited to be offering group and 1:1 coaching and Doulas, or aspiring Doulas. I truly believe that a supported Doula can be a more Supportive Doula, and in this work that is SO important.

Iâm proud to be a Mother, wife, and Birth Doula.
People ask me ALL the time âHOW do you do it? How can I do it!?â
And I often joke and say that when I started, I was a little âdelusionalâ. I mean⌠I started my Doula training when I was two months postpartum, AND my oldest had just turned 2⌠who in their right mind does that?Â
I didnât know how I was going to make it work at the time. All I really knew that I was incredibly passionate about helping parents have informed, calm, confident, and empowering birth experiences. So I decided I would just DO IT, and I would figure out the rest along the way.
 Here I am, three years later still DOING it. AND with 90k followers on Instagram, 25k follower on Facebook, and a newly discovered passion for helping other Doulas have successful businesses.
Iâve learned SO much along the way, and Iâm so excited to share that with you.
I promise, your community NEEDS more Doulas and it needs more passionate people like YOU to help change birth. (because letâs face it- the maternal and fetal outcomes and birth trauma rates in the U.S. are just inexcusable)
If you feel moved to pursuit birth work, my recommendation is to take the plunge and get started! The truth is that most of you will probably never actually start. Youâre waiting for the âperfect timeâ or waiting until youâre âfully preparedâ. But the reality, is that those things usually donât actually exist.
